With the meeting taking place just a day after the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.g20interfaith.org\/2024-g20-interfaith-forum-brazil\/\">G20 Interfaith Forum (IF20)<\/a>, participants underscored the need for the\u00a0importance of a comprehensive response by faith communities and civil society to climate challenges.<br\/><br\/>Over 50 people attended the hybrid meeting, including GNRC coordinators and committee members from more than ten countries in the region.\u00a0As participants discussed the themes of the upcoming GNRC Sixth Forum, they also reviewed the progress achieved on the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gnrc.us21.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=bf82f14545ea38856bbb36edf&amp;id=febf9228dc&amp;e=5d099ac6c1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>10 Commitments on Ending Violence Against Children<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0made at the GNRC Fifth Forum, also held in Panama City, Panama, in 2017. \u00a0<br\/><br\/>An estimated\u00a0<strong>40 million people<\/strong>\u00a0have been reached globally through programs and interventions in response to the Panama Commitments. These interventions include regional initiatives such as the Alliance for the Protection of Children, which brings together faith-based and faith-inspired organizations and communities to protect children and advocate for the prevention and eradication of violence in the LAC region, specifically in El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala, and Mexico. With the meeting taking place just a day after the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.g20interfaith.org\/2024-g20-interfaith-forum-brazil\/\">G20 Interfaith Forum (IF20)<\/a>, participants underscored the need for the\u00a0importance of a comprehensive response by faith communities and civil society to climate challenges.<br\/><br\/>Over 50 people attended the hybrid meeting, including GNRC coordinators and committee members from more than ten countries in the region.\u00a0As participants discussed the themes of the upcoming GNRC Sixth Forum, they also reviewed the progress achieved on the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gnrc.us21.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=bf82f14545ea38856bbb36edf&amp;id=febf9228dc&amp;e=5d099ac6c1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>10 Commitments on Ending Violence Against Children<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0made at the GNRC Fifth Forum, also held in Panama City, Panama, in 2017. \u00a0<br\/><br\/>An estimated\u00a0<strong>40 million people<\/strong>\u00a0have been reached globally through programs and interventions in response to the Panama Commitments. These interventions include regional initiatives such as the Alliance for the Protection of Children, which brings together faith-based and faith-inspired organizations and communities to protect children and advocate for the prevention and eradication of violence in the LAC region, specifically in El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala, and Mexico. However, more needs to be done.\u00a0Father Eusebio Mu\u00f1oz, a catholic priest, was among those who\u00a0called for more concerted efforts by all stakeholders to end violence against children in the region and globally.<br\/><br\/>The pre-forum meeting was opened by Mr. Hamad Khatir, Vice President, <a href=\"https:\/\/iafsc.org\/\">Interfaith Alliance for Safer Communities<\/a>; Dr. Mustafa Y.
